The CPU-module, memory modules and I/O-modules communicate via a common bus-system. The different modules can be placed anywhere on the bus. Addresses for memory~ and I/O modules are determined by switch registers situated on the modules. The modules are built up on printed-wire-boards 144mm x 138mm. The connection to the bus is made through a loopole edge-card connector. Connection to the environment is by means of a 72-pole edge-card connector placed at the top of the module. The bus consists of a motherboard placed at the bottom of the cabinet. A maximum of 19 modules can be plugged into the bus. The cabinet contains power supplies to the system. The system is intended to be used in user defined applications in cases where the use of microcomputers is reasonable, and where the number of units prohibits a more integrated design. Even in such cases, the modular microprocessor system can be useful in prototyping the equipment. The ID-7000 microprocessor system has been developed in co-operation with the Department of Computer Science, at the Technical University of Denmark. It is a further development on a previous 8080 microprocessor system made by the Institute. *END*
